One of the finest and most iconic hotels in the world, the Cipriani is the perfect place if you are looking for a luxurious stay in Venice. The hotel is located on Giudecca island, just a short boat ride from Piazza San Marco, and offers 270 degree waterfront views of Venice. Transportation to and from the main island is simple, as the Cipriani provides guests a 24-hour, free water taxi back and forth to San Marco. The boat ride is beautiful and takes about 10 minutes. The hotel also offers Michelin-starred dining, world-famous Bellinis, and the biggest pool in Venice. This is a highly priced option.

With our favorite lobby/cocktail bar in Venice, the Hotel Danieli is an extravagant 5-star hotel in a 14th century palazzo. The hotel is perfectly located, just steps away from Piazza San Marco, and has a beautiful terrace restaurant overlooking the water. As a bonus, the Hotel Danieli is also managed by Marriott. This is a more affordable option than the Cipriani, but still a 5-star hotel. We would recommend requesting one of the newly renovated rooms in the hotel.

One of our favorite hotels in Venice, Al Ponte Antico is a family-run 4-star hotel in a historic palace dating to the 16th century. Al Ponte Antico boasts views overlooking the Grand Canal and Rialto Bridge, and is a 15-minute walk to Piazza San Marco. This is a moderately priced hotel.

If you stay at Al Ponte Antico, don't miss breakfast, which is personally prepared by the hotel owner and his wife.

If you are looking for a budget-friendly option, our top recommendation would be the Tribute to Music hotel. Tribute to Music is a 3-star hotel on the main island, and it is as perfectly located as any hotel in Venice. It is a 5-10 minute walk to Piazza San Marco, which is the heart of historic Venice.

This beautiful 5-star hotel is situated in Venice's oldest palazzo, dating back almost 900 years. It is in a perfect location, right next to Piazza San Marco. While we have not yet stayed at this particular hotel, it is consistently rated extremely well by guests.
